It’s not polite to talk about poop. Well, it is now! Gut health affects so much more than just your bathroom habits. Gastrointestinal function affects your immune system, your brain function, even your stress levels. In this class, you will learn the basics of how your gut works, and how to keep it healthy.
This 1.5 hour class is mostly lecture. You will be learning some basic exercises to help your gut function better. All exercises can be done seated or standing.
What is pain? Why do I hurt? What can I do about it? Pain is a VERY complicated subject. But, we can talk about the basics. This class will give an overview of what pain is and what your body might be trying to tell you. Then, I will give you a few tools (including movements, stretches, self massage techniques) for pain relief that you can use everyday.
Sex talk is everywhere. But a lot of it is not terribly helpful. Do you know how sexual function changes as you get older? Do you know what is considered "normal"? How do you know when to seek medical help, or what if medical help didn't really answer your concerns? This is a class where we will discuss common physical sexual issues openly and with matter-of-fact practicality. Open to all genders and gender expressions. Ages 18+. We will be doing simple exercises seated, standing, and maybe lying down. Welcome to all levels of ability.
Learn how to integrate your deep core stabilizer muscles into every day activities and movements. This helps with back pain, urinary leakage with pressure changes (coughing, sneezing, lifting, jumping), feelings of pelvic pressure or abdominal pressure with movement. We will be moving, bending, lifting in very basic ways. Welcome to all levels of ability.
Learn how to integrate your deep core stabilizers, including your pelvic floor muscles, into your regular exercise. Learn how breathing, pelvis positioning, and timing of movements affect how your pelvic floor muscles behave. This helps with hip, back, abdominal pain during exercise, as well as worries about leakage or pressure management. Learn how to manage intra-abdominal pressure during strength workouts as well as cardio activities. Welcome to all levels of ability, no matter how you like
